This publication is a collection of resources designed to support primary and secondary care pharmacists in reducing the inappropriate use of antipsychotics for patients with Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). The resources include outputs from the Medicines Use and Safety secondary care workshop held in London in 2012 and 2013, as well as other key background, links to websites and supporting information. It has been divided into five sections, including resources providing an overview of the subject, knowledge and skills development resources, audit resources, documents to support commissioning and Implementation support and links to further reading. Please note that there is a wide variety of support materials in this rapidly area of dementia services and therefore the resource cannot be comprehensive.
