This webinar on HRT addressed questions around the challenges faced by pharmacists with decision making.

About the webinar

The second in a series of two webinars about hormone replacement therapy (HRT). This webinar focussed on decision making and the challenges around HRT and was recorded in April 2024.

This recording was part of our primary care ‘on the couch’ discussions series. Each focussed on a different topic and featured discussions between subject matter experts. Recorded between 2023 and 2025, the resources aim to support you in your daily practice and can be watched on their own or as a series. Use the links at the top of the page to navigate between the different webinar recordings.

Why it’s important

Menopause has been recognised as a key priority within the NHS Renewed Women’s Health Strategy for England. Although pharmacists are well placed to support patients in the management of menopause, some may lack the confidence in making decisions related to HRT treatment in clinical practice.

What was covered

A facilitated discussion between a specialist and generalist around the complexities of choosing, optimising and stopping HRT. The questions asked within the first webinar were addressed by the specialist.
