Since this edition of NICE Bites was published, NICE has updated its guideline to indicate that an ECG is not needed before starting stimulants, atomoxetine or guanfacine if cardiovascular history and examination are normal and the person is not on medicine that poses an increased cardiovascular risk Please go to NICE for details and to check for any recent updates to this guideline.

NICE Bites is a monthly prescribing bulletin published by North West Medicines Information centre which summarises key recommendations from NICE guidance. NICE Bites No 106, April 2018, includes one topic: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
