Summary of NICE guidance for GORD in children and young people

Since this edition of NICE Bites was published, NICE has updated this guideline by adding footnotes on PPI and H2RA licensing for use in children, and amending advice to clarify when metoclopramide, domperidone or erythromycin can be offered. NICE Bites is a monthly bulletin from North West Medicines Information Centre which summarises key prescribing points from NICE guidance. NICE Bites No 73, March 2015 includes one topic: Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease in children and young people (NICE NG1). Sections covered include: diagnosis, pharmacological treatment (alginates, PPIs) and other management options.
