Date

2 December 2025

Location

Online via Webex 13:00 - 14:00

About the event

Using blood pressure management as an example, a community pharmacist, GP, and primary care team will have a practical and interactive conversation about how system working has enhanced Access and Recovery services and improved patient care in NHS Black Country ICB.

This is an “on the couch” webinar without presentation slides. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions via the chat function.

Why it’s important

Integrating the NHS Community Pharmacy Hypertension Case-Finding Service with community pharmacy prescribing improves access, reduces pressure on GPs, and supports earlier intervention to prevent cardiovascular disease. It also empowers community pharmacy to deliver more clinical services, aligning with the NHS 10 Year Plan.

What will be covered

  • An overview of the collaborative approach taken by the team to establish the service
  • How the team identified and overcame implementation barriers
  • Reflections from a community pharmacist on the benefits of delivering hypertension care within the community pharmacy setting
  • Insights from a GP on the service’s impact on patient outcomes and service efficiency
