We explore how a social prescriber and pharmacist work together in primary care, with ideas on how to reach out and collaborate.

About the webinar

During this event, our speakers discussed their experiences of collaborating with each other, giving examples of identifying unmet needs in patients where the other professionals can provide support. Encouragement was provided to connect with your own colleagues locally. This webinar was recorded in September 2023.

This recording was part of our primary care ‘on the couch’ discussions series. Each focussed on a different topic and featured discussions between subject matter experts. Recorded between 2023 and 2025, the resources aim to support you in your daily practice and can be watched on their own or as a series. Use the links at the top of the page to navigate between the different webinar recordings.

Why it’s important

Many pharmacy staff in primary care tell us that they would like to have a greater understanding of the role and remit of social prescribers. There is scope for greater collaboration between pharmacy and social prescribing to ensure that patients get the right support.
