Intrapharm LaboratoriesIn the event of an inadvertent temperature excursion the following data may be used:
There are no data to support long term storage at ambient temperature (below 25°C) so the recommendation that the product should be stored in a refrigerator before first use should remain.
Data when product is in-use
The data support an in-use shelf life of 30 days, irrespective of whether the product is stored at room temperature (below 25°C) or in a refrigerator.
On the basis that it is more acceptable to patients to use an eye drop at room temperature than one that has been taken straight from the refrigerator, the storage recommendations should be that after first opening, the product should be allowed to warm to room temperature for 30 minutes before first use and should thereafter be stored below 25°C and not returned to the refrigerator.
