Infective conjunctivitis is one of the most common ocular problems seen in the community. In adults, bacterial conjunctivitis is less common than viral conjunctivitis. It is most commonly caused by Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. In children, bacterial conjunctivitis is more common than viral and is mainly caused by H. influenzae, S. pneumoniae and M. catarrhalis [3].
