Lactation Safety Information

Alternative microbiologically appropriate antibacterial
For short term use where possible
Limited amount of evidence of use in breastfeeding which shows small amounts in breast milk
Avoid in known G6PD deficiency, hyperbilirubinaemia, and in jaundiced infants because of risk of kernicterus
Monitor the infant for gastro-intestinal disturbances and oral candida infection, especially if used in high doses, although unlikely to occur.
