Specialist Pharmacy Service and the Secure Environment Pharmacists Group held a national network day on 19 April 2016
The meeting began with an overview of NHS England priorities for Medicines Optimisation in Health & Justice settings. This was followed by an update on the national pain formulary, with a call for examples of good practice.
The experience of smoke free prisons in the South West was presented jointly by NOMS and the pharmacy service.
The implications of the prison reforms for healthcare were explored.
An update on the Health and justice information system including IP and MR templates was given.
A workshop on Faculty membership was delivered by the RPS.
The final session looked at the NHS England pilot of Practice Pharmacists in Nottinghamshire prisons.
