Specialist Pharmacy Service and the Secure Environment Pharmacists Group held a national network day on 16 May 2017 in London.
The meeting began with an overview of NHS England priorities for Medicines Optimisation in Health & Justice settings. This included an update on the RPS Standards.
The experience of delivering a Medicines and Illicit Substances Amnesty was shared.
A panel of inspectors from HMIP, CQC and GPhC showed us how collaborative the processes are. The opportunity to pose questions to the panel was well received.
The Smoke Free Update provided us with the background to the project, the current issues and the proposed way forward.
The new In Possession and Medicines Reconciliation templates were explained and it was highlighted that the template read codes will form the basis for HJIP monitoring.
