This network event included a keynote opening from Michelle Mello from NHSE/I on the importance of SDM as a key element of clinical care.  Two personal examples of SDM were shared to bring the topic to life, and our remaining experts highlighted how SDM can be a practical element of decision-making in some of the current key priorities, including anticoagulation in atrial fibrillation, mental health and dementia & frailty.  The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education gave a flavour of what to expect from their learning package on SDM and we ran a survey to explore barriers to SDM in pharmacy practice.
