About the event

This informal drop in session will explore practical ways aseptic services can embed sustainability initiatives into everyday practice.

Why it’s important

Sustainability is a core priority across all NHS services. Making responsible use of resources, reducing waste, and supporting greener choices is essential to improving environmental impact while maintaining high standards of patient care. Guidance is available in the RPS Green Pharmacy Toolkit and the NHS England Green Plan.

Implementing change without compromising patient safety or compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice is essential.

This session will support attendees by discussing:

  • a case study of waste reduction
  • implementing sustainability initiatives while maintaining Good Manufacturing Practice
  • embedding sustainability considerations within the Pharmaceutical Quality System

The session is suitable for NHS:

  • aseptic services and radiopharmacy services teams
  • accountable and authorised people
  • QA/QC and Production teams
