About the event

SPS pharmacy procurement specialists presented the newly developed pharmacy procurement induction programme, outlining its purpose, the rationale behind its creation, and offered guidance on how to maximise its value and practical use. There was an opportunity to ask questions and hear about future SPS procurement resources.

This webinar is for procurement staff of all levels, education and training leads, and senior pharmacy leads who want assurance that their procurement team has appropriate skills and knowledge.

Why it’s important

An effective induction programme is essential to ensure pharmacy procurement staff are equipped with the expert skills and knowledge required to navigate the complex landscape of medicines supply. By upskilling and empowering staff from the outset, organisations can promote consistency and standardisation in procurement practices, ensure timely access to medicines for patients and compliance with legislation, and foster confident decision-making.

What was covered

  • Why the pharmacy procurement induction programme has been developed
  • How the programme has been co-produced with pharmacy procurement staff
  • A demonstration of how to use the programme document
