Dosing tables enable you to determine a total Cosmofer® dose and decide whether or not you need to split the dose into two parts.

Use these tables as part of a process

The tables below are provided by the manufacturer and enable calculation of doses. The manufacturer’s tables present a dose rounded to the nearest ampoule volume to reduce Comosfer® wastage. They should be used as part of a fuller process for Cosmofer® dose calculation.

For target haemoglobin 11g/dL

The table enables estimation of the total iron requirements (mg) for target haemoglobin of 11g/dL. Shaded cells indicate where the dose exceeds 20mg/kg; these higher doses should be divided (as described in our article on the full Cosmofer® process).

For target haemoglobin 15g/dL

The manufacturers of CosmoFer® provide a dosing table for patients with a target haemoglobin of 15.0g/dL, current iron level of 500mg and an actual body weight of 35kg to 90kg.

See the other steps in the process

Using the dosing tables forms part of the process of safely and effectively using Cosmofer. You should consult all the steps in our article on the topic.
